She started that her work in 1990s with Arab Systems and development Groups which was an agent for "Apple" in Syria then she worked as sells Manager for "So Proud" company which was working under the umbrella of "Puzant Yacobian & sons" company.
In 2006, Eng. Rana Asaad started to run "Spectra" company which work mainly on repairing and selling "Apple" products for professionals and consumers.
"Puzant Yacobian & sons" company which was "Apple" agent was offering solutions for professionals only, but after adopting "Intel" processors in 2006 we started to attract consumers.
Eng. Asaad said: "We need to brief consumers about the importance of Apple Macintosh machines as university students consider laptops as part and parcel of heir life... but the issue of price is an obstacle".
Apple Macintosh computers are expensive due to US boycott. Therefore, the companies are facing difficulties in getting the machines, offering services and maintenance and receiving spare parts.
Eng. Asaad affirmed the necessity amending parts of customs laws in Syria to outdo neighboring markets, noting that customers go to Beirut to buy the machine at lower prices, despite the fact that they lose free training and local services.
"The customer is only interested in price and does not care about after sales services", Eng. Asaad added.
She cited that her company's customers are professionals and looking for high performance computers.
Over the past years, Apple has produced a unique software besides having the "final cut studio" program.
Concerning her ambition, End Asaad said: "After the end of the boycott, I hope to legitimate our existence as agent for Apple products".
On the other hand, Eng. Asaad talked about "Spectra" company's participation in Shaam exposition, saying: "We got benefits from our participation in the past two sessions".
The exposition is a serious opportunity to introduce products and to sell a good quantity through special offers, but we expect more support for such expositions, Eng. Asaad said.
This year, "Spectra" company would show new "Apple" laptops, "Allay Pod", "i-mac", studio for producing digital video, and Japanese "Iso" LCD.
Concluding the interview, "Spectra" company's Director hoped to change the date of holding the next Shaam expo in order to attract more visitors.
